Experience

As a philosopher, it is my job to ask interesting questions, and think about interesting topics. I love to wonder at the world and share the beauty of ideas with others. I am a perfect teacher for those who want to learn how critical reading and writing can sharpen thinking skills, which will lay a foundation for higher level work in almost any profession or specialization. I also have a BA from one of the top programs in Linguistics, which gives me extra qualification to help with English as a Second language. I am a National Merit Scholar (based on the highest SAT scores) and have been awarded a prestigious US Fulbright Award. I've received straight A's through my 9 years of graduate school (3.9 minimum GPA), achieved scores in top percentiles in the PSATS, SATS, ACTs, and GREs, and I have an growing record of official academic publications and scholarly presentations. I specialize in presenting complex ideas in simple, down-to-earth ways. I have experience teaching in numerous settings, including classrooms of university and high school level students as well as personalized on-on-one tutoring for both adults and high school students. Hobbies

In addition to philosophy, I love exploring and learning. My interests are broad, ranging from art to technology to history. I have 14 years of experience in postsecondary education, with degrees in Linguistics, Religious Studies, and Philosophy. I've learned 6 languages, studied abroad in 3 different countries, and have officially taught students from around the world, both native speakers and those learning English. I would be an excellent teacher for native speakers or intermediate to advanced ESL students who would like to deepen their thinking and expand their creativity through reading or writing in an academic setting.
