Education

***( majaivkovicmath@gmail.com )*** I hold a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Science in Zagreb, where I specialized in Financial Mathematics and Business. My master’s thesis focused on Cryptography in World War II. In 2021, I completed a Data Analyst Master’s Program at OpenClassrooms in Paris, where I gained expertise in tools like Excel, Python, SQL, Tableau, and Machine Learning. Additionally, I completed a Teacher Training Program at the Teachers’ Faculty in Zagreb, focusing on pedagogy, psychology in education, and the methodology of teaching mathematics.

Experience

I’m a dedicated mathematician and educator with over 15 years of experience in higher education, paired with three years of academic research at INSEAD, one of the world’s leading business schools. My research focused on management, entrepreneurship, and innovation—fields where I applied rigorous mathematical and data analysis techniques. Teaching has always been my true calling. I find immense joy in helping students understand complex topics and develop a genuine appreciation for mathematics. My teaching philosophy is rooted in making learning a collaborative journey, where my goal is not just to pass on information but to nurture critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I believe that true understanding comes from engagement and curiosity, not rote memorization. Every lesson is carefully crafted to ensure that you not only grasp the concepts but also learn how to apply them effectively in real-world scenarios. Over the years, I have taught a wide range of subjects, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Data Analysis. My expertise extends to specialized areas such as Statistics, Financial Mathematics, and Accounting. I am particularly experienced in preparing students for standardized tests like the SAT and GMAT, helping many of them gain admission to top-tier universities and business schools like Harvard, Stanford, MIT, INSEAD, and HEC. As a co-author of "Le guide stratégique du GMAT - Un programme de préparation en 8 semaines", the first comprehensive GMAT guide tailored for French students, I take pride in being a part of many students’ academic journeys. I currently teach Mathematics and Cryptography at Sup de Vinci - School of Computer Engineering in Paris, where I develop and deliver courses in Mathematical Analysis, Probability, Logic, Linear Algebra, and Graph Theory at the undergraduate level. I also teach advanced Cryptography at the master’s level, focusing on its mathematical foundations, including Number Theory, Algebra, and Discrete Mathematics. Additionally, I have taught Linear Algebra, Calculus, and Differential Equations at the University of Chemical Engineering in Zagreb, Croatia. I am fluent in English, Croatian, and French, and can teach in all three languages, allowing me to adapt my lessons to meet the linguistic needs of my students. Whether you’re tackling a complex mathematical topic, preparing for a critical exam, or building foundational skills, I am here to guide you every step of the way. Known for being patient, well-organized, and fully committed to my students’ success, I am passionate about showing you that mathematics is not just a subject to be learned, but a fascinating tool that can open doors to endless opportunities. Let’s work together to make learning an enriching and rewarding experience.

Hobbies

I’ve been passionate about volleyball since 2000, competing at both national and regional levels. Some of my proudest moments include winning silver medal at the World Company Games and gold medal at the European Company Games. When I’m not on the court, I love exploring new places and capturing beautiful moments through photography. I also enjoy expressing my creativity through drawing and painting with oil, acrylic, and watercolor. And above all, I absolutely LOVE teaching Mathematics! Nothing brings me more joy than helping others discover the beauty of math.
