I have been tutoring privately since 2005 with students aged 8 (yes, young kids nowadays get tutors!) to 18 and older. My teaching philosophy prioritizes an upbeat, encouraging environment. I want my students to understand concepts - rather than simply memorizing - to ensure they can continue as independent scholars! As a musicologist, my work has been shared at international conferences and published in academic journals. My background as a pianist has brought me around the globe as a performer and I also enjoy teaching piano to children and adults.

Hobbies
Books have been part of my life since I was little when I used to sneak The Little House on the Prairie under my covers after lights-out. While reading (non-fiction especially) is now part of my job as a music researcher, I still love reading anything from novels to the daily newspaper and have developed a new passion for cooking. On the active side, I enjoy dancing and tennis.
