My teaching approach was developed through my own experiences as a language student, my formal education and professional experience, which included positions at DHL and Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development. Learning and acquiring a language is more than grammar and pronunciation. It’s understanding who you are talking to, their culture, appreciating those differences. Learning another language is learning how other people think. I know what it’s like to be a beginner, not “get it”, have to struggle through it and come out on the other side. Producing the language is the best way to learn: speaking and writing. My students always have the opportunity to talk and make mistakes in a constructive environment. I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, gardening, travel, and cooking. I also love dogs, especially dachshunds! For me, it is also fun to learn about my students' interests and professions. Based in the US, I am available evenings and weekends for European timezones. Please note, *ALL* my courses are *online* using Skype or other video conference platforms.
