Education

I graduated from The University of Chicago in 2016 with general and departmental honors in Public Policy studies and Sociology of Medicine. After studying and living in Paris for the past two years, I completed my masters thesis at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. I scored a 34 on the ACT, 2310 on the SAT, and 168 verbal/164 quant/5 analytical writing on the GRE. I am now a PhD student at the University of Cambridge studying epidemiology and public health.

Experience

I have been tutoring the ACT and subjects such as geometry and algebra for the past five years. In high school, I started tutoring individual students in geometry and trigonometry. I really enjoyed teaching groups of students as a science ACT instructor while studying at university and want to continue my passion for teaching both groups and individuals. By teaching with a program called Whatever It Takes at UChicago over the past three years, I have taught hundreds of high school students and helped them improve their ACT Science scores. This opportunity allowed me to teach students who came from different educational backgrounds. I also have experience in teaching both the ACT and the ILTS to Teach for America corps members in Chicago. One of my goals as a teacher is to break ideas down into simpler steps so that my students can learn at their own pace and be able to grasp fundamental concepts. Not only can I recommend which test practice books are best, but I am also able to work with the student in identifying which subjects and concepts need strengthening and focus on those areas. I have taught the ACT Math section for the past two years to TFA corps members as well as to private students. I have also taught multiple subjects such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus to individual middle school and high school students. Furthermore, I have spent the last three years teaching the ACT Science section to high school students enrolled in the WIT program at the University of Chicago. I have also taught the ACT English and Reading section for the past two years to Teach for America corps members as well as to private students.
